Sources for book titles were current catalogs, Children's Books from A to Zoo, Books in Print, and titles found recommended in other sources. Titles which are no longer in print may still be found in many school libraries.

The primary goal of the module is to teach students the facts about arthropods and their importance in the environment. While not knowingly including any books with factual errors, it would be hoped that students will become discriminating in their choice of books and recognize any inaccuracies that occur in these books. Audio/Visual Materials	Includes some periodical articles and a list of materials available in various audio-visual formats; company names and 1/800 numbers are given for purposes of obtaining catalogs with current price information
Smithsonian Materials	Lists materials produced by the Smithsonian Institution
Smithsonian Bookstore	Lists materials available for ordering through the Smithsonian Book Store but not necessarily produced by the Smithsonian Institution (Note: These materials are listed as a service to the user. The materials are also listed in the book bibliographies and may be ordered from any book store as long as the books remain in print.) Order Form

Teacher Recommended Materials	Will list materials teachers have recommended as being useful as background material or for use with the activities through the feedback component of the module
